Garuda is a mythologic beast from the stories written in many books of Hinduism and Buddhism. The name garuda itself came from the sanskrit word Garula. The Garuda is a mighty bird who acted as the God Vishnu ride who has a gold body, a pure white face that looks like a human with arms and foots that is huge. To the people of Javanese and bali, Garuda is found on many of the ancient site and temples.
On many stories Garuda often symbolize the kindness, knowledge, power, bravery, loyalty and discipline. Garuda also has some of Vishnu’s wisdom as a guardian of the universe. Garuda has been selected as the country indonesia’s emblem to symbolize that the nation of Indonesia is a tough and strong nation.
The sillhouette of the bird head and beak is depicted on the knive’s blade edge. The knive has five crest on the Thumb grid that symbolize pancasila as the nation’s ideology.
The knive’s handle are using Tanpusu wood that came from Celebes (Sulawesi) also named Madrona Burl Wood. This special selected wood has a unique flame pattern on the wood profile. The pattern is symbolizing the burning spirits of the heroes that helps Indonesia gained her independent. The handle also use exotic wood Tanpusu that has a unique archipelago pattern that is mostly used as a handle and sheath of the legendary keris.
